Nelson Bartolome Cortes Anderson
Nelson B. Cortes is currently a USPTA Tennis Professional and Program Coordinator for High Performance Sports Management in Orlando, FL. Starting as a tennis enthusiast at the age of 13, Nelson fell in love passionately with the sport to the point that he pursued competition in the south of Spain (Malaga, Andalucia)under the direction of his tennis and life coach Jose Luis Gimenez Corti. Jose Luis was not only an immense inspiration to him, but also a huge influence in his vision about hard work, commitment and success. The young Spaniard dedicated his time, effort and funds into learning the technical, tactical, physical and mental side of the game and motivated himself to follow this call into teaching and coordinating adult and junior lessons, classes and leagues.
As he grew older, his path led him to Orlando FL, where he completed his USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) certification on the rank of P2, learned program managing skills, tournament ladders, knowledge of tennis equipment/sporting goods/sales from High Performance Sports MGMT and eTennis Inc. in Winter Park FL. Aside from the game and industry of tennis, Nelson is certified by the Walt Disney Company and Disney Vacation Club Development Inc. as an active Advance Sales Associate in the timeshare/hospitality/entertainment industry, where the guest always comes first, followed by the company’s benefit and finally the cast satisfaction. All of this background and experience would not have been achieved or useful without the acknowledgement of all the help, support and mentorship Nelson received from HPSM’s owner and Head Director Angie Zguna, eTennis’s owner Tobias Svantesson, and the remarkable standards of business, guest service and training received by The Walt Disney Company/Disney Vacation Club INC.
However, the pillars of Nelson’s work ethic/motivation/fulfillment are fueled by passion for doing the right thing at the right time, creating a safe, courteous and always positive environment for the community and achieving greatness in an ever competitive and challenging (but fun) space.
Nelson’s love for the game of tennis, music and animals are visible at the Winter Park/Downtown Orlando areas where he often walks his Dachshund/Chihuahua dog “Roger”, named after Swiss Tennis Maestro “Roger Federer” and Rock and Roll legend and founder of UK’s band “Pink Floyd”, “Roger Waters”.
